About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented CPA Accountant based in Panama, to support the Senior Finance Manager – Americas. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting of our regional entities in Latin America (Panama, Mexico, and Brazil). The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely closings, maintain internal payroll calculations, and collaborate with local accounting firms to ensure full compliance with tax and financial regulations in each country.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete accounting cycle for our entities in Panama, Mexico, and Brazil.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and quarter-end closings, aligned with internal deadlines.
  • Maintain internal payroll calculations for each country and coordinate local requirements with third-party providers.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firms to:
    • Ensure compliance with local tax and accounting laws.
    • Submit tax returns and regulatory filings on time.
    • Prepare internal and statutory financial statements.
    • Support local and regional audits.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and supporting documentation in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, cash flow forecasts, and internal reports for management.
  • Support the year-end closing process, including preparation of audit files and collaboration with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Contribute to financial process improvements and assist with ad hoc tasks and strategic analysis as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting and reporting, preferably within a regional or multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of local tax and accounting regulations in Panama, Mexico and Brazil is a Plus
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (both written and spoken); Portuguese is a strong plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Sun Systems, Power BI, or other financial systems.
  • Experience liaising with external auditors, tax authorities, and cross-border finance teams.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
